And The Blog-iday Continues...

It's been 7 months and 110 blog posts since 219 came to life!

BUT...

...after much thought, we've decided to extend
our blog-iday indefinitely.
You may hear from us once and awhile if we have something inspiring to share, but for now we won't be posting on the regular anymore.

The past several months have been the best of
experiences on so many levels - it has been amazing
becoming more involved in the blogging and design
communities, and most of all, it has given us the
opportunity to meet and be inspired by some
truly amazing and creative people.

That said, we have both come to feel conflicted
in terms of finding time for all that we have going
on including our very young families :).

We really both feel as though we need to invest a lot more
time into the blog, which is unfortunately not
something we have in abundance these days.

Christine will be focusing her efforts on
continuing to build the shop and with
One King's Lane as a vintage and market finds vendor.

Our heartfelt thank you to all of our readers
for your support and for all the encouraging emails and comments
we've received.

Please please keep in touch! We are both always available
on our 219 emails:

Christine@shop219.com

&

Sarah@shop219.com

And would love to hear from you!!

Blog Break

Hellooooo!
Happy Monday everyone!

We're going to be taking a little break this week to reassess the future of the blog and the direction we're wanting to go.

...A little
if you will!

Where we won't be doing this...

Friday Files: Green with Envy

Happy St. Patty's Day to all shy a couple of days!!

Mallory Page

As an ode to St. Patrick, I am only all too happy
to dedicate a post to all things green and gorge
starting with this tuffetage and leather bag I
spotted in the most recent issue of Harper's Bazaar.

Louis Vuitton

Conjures up all kindsa Slim Aaron, 1970's
country club style - loves!!

And next, the newest addition to the shop collection
- a pair of emerald green and brass pedestals!!

Shop 219

Apologies for the poor quality pic. Will have
better ones up in the shop shortly as well as shots of
the other new pieces that arrived this week -
like a kid at Christmas I was so excited!!

Will save the pics for next week, but just to
preview a few: a life-size Italian ceramic leopard
(wild horses are going to have to drag me away
from that one!!); a pair of brass tassel and marble
side tables; and a pair of Thayer Coggin upholstered
parsons chairs something like these:

Atlanta Homes Mag

Was also thrilled to have found a pair of
Giancarlo Piretti chairs for the shop
(recall the stunning pair in Sarah's house):

And yes, we've seen this often before,
but no self-respecting tribute to green would be complete
without a reference to this classic:

Martinique Wallpaper

But I think the prize has to go to Tory Burch for
her use of green velvet on the walls of her
(is it Manhattan?) residence:

Tory Burch

So saturated and so much texture - brilliant!!

Go green or go home I say ;).

A wonderful w/e to all and hoping you enjoy
the St. P's festivities!!

On The Wishlist!

It's time for another 'things I want, but will never own' post! I think I should just start a series called this because lets be honest, over half the things I want will NEVER happen. It's fun to pretend though...

.......

Isabel Marant - you do no wrong, I will take anything you design. These boots currently being at the top of the list!

I need some more home accessories. Kind of loving this Jonathan Adler statue

There's no hiding it - although I may fool some - I'm a huuuuge tomboy at heart. I want this skateboard for my wall... and if it doesn't work there, I may just want to ride it with my little guys

(Sidenote: Only after I fell in love did I notice that there is Marijuana in the top left corner. Big fail!)

I loooove sconces, and this one is just beyond!

As mentioned before I'm not usually drawn to colour, but I just love this blue velvet pillow by Arianna Belle. I keep coming back to it, so maybe I just need to snatch a pair up!

3.1 Philip Lim bag love...

This mirror! It's actually almost so ugly it's cool!

If I were 7, I would be hysterically laughing with my sister at this! (We had an odd sense of humour...)

And lastly, a Brian Lichtenberg 'Homies' t-shirt...

I think this one will have to happen!

........

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Monday Motivation via Marrakech!!

There is so much design goodness out there that
we sadly become a bit immune to it all.

So I get especially excited when I find something
that I loooove that I haven't seen before like
I did yesterday when I came across these fabulous
pom pom throws from Marrakech!!

They are available in these saturated tones...

or these neutrals...

... and I'm kinda in love with them all!!

I am seriously considering the yellow one for
my 4 year old son's room, and so many of the others
would be in-credible in a more sophisticated space.

Love their boho vibe.

Makes me think of spaces like this bedroom
- one of Sarah's and my favourites.

...and this...

...and even this.

I'm thinking that I might love to carry these in the shop!!
Would love your opinion - what think you??

A Thanks, A Bar and Some Lights

Wanted to start off first with saying a big thanks to Christine from Bijou & Boheme for posting about my house yesterday! You can see it along with some other great stuff here

.....

I can't stop thinking about this bar design by Sara Story that I saw a few day ago.

Absolutely stunning!

I love the wall behind with the random shelves. It's so so good!

.........

I also saw this photo of Nate Berkus' appt. and am loving the wall sconce!

I've always been intrigued by the Jonathan Adler 'Anemone' ceiling fixture, and now I'm desperately trying to find a wall to use it on in my house.

I love the look of it on a wall!

.........

Been thinking about how to style a sideboard for my family room and I was debating between a set of lamps, or a set of wall scones. Why not do one of each?

Best of both worlds right!?

Hope you have a good day!

Room Flip

I got my Giancarlo Piretti chairs back from the upholster this weekend and I am very very happy with the results! They are also amazingly comfortable which is a big plus, and inspired a little room switch-a-roo.

When our home was built we decided to open the wall between the dining and family room, and close off the formal living room to use it as a family/playroom. For several reasons I recently haven't been loving that change and decided to switch the two rooms. The family/playroom is now our formal living room (it has doors which helps keep the kids out - huge bonus) and our living room is now going to be the family room.

There is still stuff to be done, but this is how it's looking right now...

The rug is being borrowed from my sons room while I wait for my dream rug to arrive. I also need a kid-friendly coffee table, some form of storage solution for the corner (that can't be seen in this pic), and the juju hat needs to be switched out for the tv. I'll post more progress shots once things arrive/are bought.

.....

Any the new living room - which is very much lacking art and other finishing touches - looks like this...

I'm planning on plastering the walls in some fabulous moulding and of course replacing that string of photos for some large scale art. A new hanging light fixture is also on the 'to find' list.

So far I'm quite happy with the change and it feels more - dare I say it - practical. Although I hate thinking that way when it comes to design, sometimes it just makes life so much easier...
